How Two and a Half Men ran for twelve seasons and 262 episodes has to be one of the universe's biggest mysteries, because even when Charlie Sheen was at his best it rarely overcame its dull and crass approach to comedy.

The show followed Charlie Harper, a sociopathic playboy who's forced to house his hapless brother Alan and Alan's son Jake after a nasty divorce. This potentially interesting living arrangement leads to some silly humour thanks to Charlie's hedonistic lifestyle and Alan's general uselessness.

Two and a Half Men originally came to an end with its eighth season, when Sheen controversially lashed out at creator Chuck Lorre and checked into rehab. With Sheen fired, it seemed the show would end with him, but Ashton Kutcher was roped in to play new protagonist Walden Schmidt in his place.

With Kutcher, the series received decent viewership, but critically tanked before being put out of its misery twelve years after its debut.
