5. The Mother's Name Is Dropped Early - How I Met Your Mother
Pretty much taking the entirety of the show's life to finally get to the reveal of, the sight of the titular figure finally making her presence known in How I Met Your Mother left many diving back into the prior eight seasons to see if any crumbs could be discovered when it came to the Tracy McConnell revelation.
And as it goes, you don't actually have to look all that far to discover the first significant hint at Tracy eventually being revealed as Ted Mosby's kids' mom all along, with it actually being alluded to during Season 1 of the show.
Episode 9, Belly Full of Turkey, depicts Ted meeting a stripper by the name of, you guessed it, Tracy. And the cheeky scamp would even follow this line up by joking to his kids that this was how he met their mother, subtly hinting at Tracy being the name on the showrunner's lips all along.
And in another more tragic beat of clear foreshadowing towards an eventual HIMYM plot twist, Tracy's comment of "What mother is going to miss her daughter's wedding?" in Season 9 before Ted sheds a tear hints at the eventual heart-rending fate of a Tracy we weren't aware was already sick in this moment...
