Coming from Alex Herschlag, Broke was a short lived sitcom which followed the exploits of a put-upon single mum who lets her spoiled sister crash at her place when her trust fund goes caput—with said sister brining both her husband and personal assistant along, naturally.
The premise sounds a little like a knock off of cult comedy Schitt’s Creek, so surely this sitcom could take the place of that recently completed series in the heart of the public—right?
Maybe, if Herschlag wasn’t the writer behind 2009’s Sit Down Shut Up, the recently killed Will and Grace reboot, the doomed Man with a Plan…
There’s a pattern beginning to emerge here. Network executives, take note.
