5. Doctor Who

If you haven't seen The Time of the Doctor - the Christmas special episode - then stop everything you're doing and watch it right now! The episode marked the swan song of the much-loved Matt Smith and the Doctor's regeneration into the 12th Doctor, as played by Peter Capaldi. Peter Capaldi will make his much anticipated debut as the Doctor this year and audiences cannot wait to see what he brings to the table. When it was revealed that Capaldi was to play the next Doctor, an internet meme began in which fans were creating scenes for the new series based on his performance as Malcolm in The Thick of It. As much as we would love to see the Doctor cursing at daleks, I don't think the BBC would actually steer the character down this particular route. Sadly.
