10 TV Shows That Are Returning Soon
4. Locke & Key
It's been almost 18 months since season two of Netflix's Locke and Key was announced but alas, the wait is finally over as the supernatural drama is due to return to the streaming platform on 22 October 2021.
Season one was well received by critics. The story follows the Locke children who move to Matheson, Massachusetts, to take up residence in their murdered father's family home. They soon discover mysterious keys which open supernatural portals throughout the house but they're not the only ones searching for the keys.
A demonic entity named Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira) is also present inside the house. After much struggle and anguish, the season ended with the kids believing that they had rid such an entity from the house but Dodge wasn't going down without a fight.
Dodge used the Identity Key to trick the kids into throwing Ellie (Sherri Saum) through the Omega Door, leaving Dodge disguised as Gabe (Griffin Gluck). Eden (Hallea Jones) was also possessed by a demonic bullet in the final episode so there's certainly going to be trouble ahead in season two.
Showrunner Meredith Averill teased that now that the kids are the new 'Keepers of the Keys', season two "will explore what that responsibility means". Netflix does have a history of cancelling its original shows despite their success but you can rest easy on this occasion as Locke & Key has already been renewed for a third season.
