10 TV Shows That Are Returning Soon
3. Narcos: Mexico
Narcos: Mexico has an interesting conception. The show was originally intended to play out as the storyline of Narcos' fourth season but showrunners decided it was best to keep the focus on the Colombian drug trade whilst Narcos: Mexico would become its own show.
The third season is due to debut on streaming service Netflix on 5 November 2021 after almost a two year hiatus. Prepare yourselves for sad news though, as the third season of Narcos: Mexico will be the show's last.
One change we can expect this season is that series lead Diego Luna won't be returning as Félix Gallardo following his exit from the show. It's not entirely a surprise. At the end of season two, Félix was arrested by the Mexican Federal Police for the murder of DEA Agent Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena (Michael Peña).
The last time we see Félix, he's being visited in prison by Breslin, who teases what we should expect from season three - and that's the onset of the Mexican Drug War as new cartels compete for their stake in the market following the fall of Gallardo.
This is corroborated by showrunner Eric Newman who teased, "[We're] heading into the nineties where it gets really ugly, because that thing that held everybody together, which was Félix Gallardo and his dream, is gone, and so the killing starts."
