10 TV Shows That Deserve Feature Films
1. Game Of Thrones
The Premise: Writer George R.R. Martin's fantasy epic A Song Of Ice and Fire, in which he creates a colourful world of fully fleshed out, captivating characters then kills off every single one you care about, is adapted by HBO in Game of Thrones. In short, it's a visual companion to your misery, with one of the best casts in television history. It's also the most spectacular thing on television, and the cause of much discord now that the show has caught up with Martin's novels, with the books still a work in progress.
Why It Deserves The Feature Film Treatment: No surprise here - Game of Thrones has been talked about in terms of a big screen adaptation for years. In fact, individual episodes have already screened in cinemas on a limited basis. Such is the beauty of the show - it already looks and feels like a major motion picture.
Plus, with the production having caught up with George R. R. Martin's novels, saving the final installment or two of the series for the big screen might not be such a bad idea - it would give him an extra little bit of breathing room. A.k.a. buying time.
Oh, who are we kidding, there's no way he finishes the novels before the live action series is done.
