10 TV Shows That Deserved To Become Cult Hits (That Didn't)
9. Almost Human
Sticking in the dramatic sci-fi realm now, and heading over to an intriguing show that didn't even make it past its first season before being dealt the fatal cancellation blow.
Brought to screens by executive producer J.J. Abrams, the year is 2048 and human cops are now required to go about their daily duties alongside a robotic partner, something Karl Urban's John Kennex is absolutely thrilled about.
The complicated relationship between Kennex and Michael Ealy's Dorian robo-parter, who isn't exactly a fan of being referred to as a "synthetic", provides the foundation for a routinely enjoyable crime sci-fi ride.
Unfortunately for Almost Human, though, this dangerous high-tech future, one equipped with a 400% increase in crime, was cut short in the wake of the show not pulling in the sort of viewing figures its high production costs demanded.
Being brought to an abrupt end after just one season wasn't enough to keep the likes of Firefly from going on to establish itself as one of the most popular cult TV hits of all time, it must be said. Yet, even with only 13 enjoyable episodes to its name, Almost Human has never quite managed to cement itself as a much-watch dramedy for futuristic sci-fi lovers.
