10 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

7. Batwoman

The cancellation of The CW's Batwoman series won't come as a surprise to anyone that's been following the show at all.

Though the series debuted to broadly positive reviews and acceptable ratings in 2019, it hit a major speedbump when lead Ruby Rose quit after the first season, later citing toxic work conditions as the primary motivating factor.

Rose was replaced for the remaining two seasons by Javicia Leslie, who played an entirely new character, and though both Leslie and the second season received warm reviews, the fan response was considerably more polarising.

With Ruby Rose out, Batwoman's ratings fell off a cliff throughout season two and never recovered, regularly dipping below 500,000 viewers - something it never got close to doing in season one.

The recent third season, which aired in a new timeslot, consisted of a truncated 13 episodes due to pandemic restrictions in Canada, and shortly after it completed airing The CW confirmed that the show had been canned.
