Well this juggernaut had to be mentioned sooner or later, didnt it? True, Game of Thrones would only fit into a Doctor Who shaped hole with the aid of a hacksaw and a lump hammer, but don't dismiss it just yet. Do you think the Doctor is a bit of a goody-two-shoes? Do you wish theyd take the blink-and-youll-miss-it smut of NuWho and turn it up to 11? Do you like Doctor Who but really miss Torchwood? Give Game of Thrones a punt. Doctor Who is more fantasy than sci-fi so its not such a leap. Doctor Who has Classic fans and Nu fans. Game of Thrones has fans of the books and fans of the show. Pick a side and join in the comfortably familiar sneering, sniping arguments. Or you can sit back and enjoy both sides making fools of themselves. Whatever rings your bell. Like The Walking Dead, this is a show that that can make you cry out as you watch yet another favourite character bite the dust. Whether its by headsmans axe, poison, a quarrel in the guts or a knife across the throat, no one is safe. Fans have a list of characters they say George R. R. Martin wouldnt dare to kill, but its getting shorter all the time. He wouldnt dare kill XYZ is now more of a desperate plea than a confident prediction. Epic in every way, this show will pull you in and spit you back out. Oh, and it's got dragons.
Older than some and taller than most. Grey of eye and white of beard.
Stephen's book 'Hiding', about a boy who meets a goblin in a local wood, is available to download from the usual places. Think of it as a scavenger hunt.
