10 TV Shows To Fill That Doctor Who Shaped Void

6. The Flash

The Flash is stable mate to Arrow and launched with some help from its elder via crossover episodes. Again it€™s based on a DC hero but The Flash is genuinely super-powered, he is the Fastest Man Alive. This does make him sound like a one-trick-pony but his speed extrapolates into other powers such as quick healing, time travel and the ability to drink everyone else under the table. The tone of The Flash is lighter and less edgy than Arrow. Technically he€™s still a vigilante, but he works for the police in his Barry Allen persona, and with them as the Flash. He€™s an old-school hero which is a refreshing change these days. The bad guys are not killed but secured in an underground super-prison (just 'cause!) and The Flash always tries to do the right thing. None of your brooding, guilt-ridden lone wolf here. If the Arrow is like the Doctor after the Time War, then the Flash is like the Doctor before it. He€™s even rubbish with women. Though it's light and fluffy in comparison to most shows on this list, not every series needs to turn your stomach, stretch your mind or challenge your moral certainty. Lots of action, a hero with a strong moral compass and colourful villains, this is a show you can watch with the young. That€™s why The Flash beats Arrow in this particular list.
