10 TV Shows To Watch If You Loved Game Of Thrones

7. The Last Kingdom

The Last Kingdom Game Of Thrones
BBC

Based on Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Series novels of the same name, The Last Kingdom is set in the 10th century (aka when Viking Danes were living their best lives).

The series, which takes place during a time when England was split into seven separate kingdoms, follows the show’s main protagonist as he, after the death of both his brother and his father (Sup, Targaryen fans?), who has since formed a new life with an adopted family, is forced to choose between the birthright of his ancestors and the people of his upbringing. Jon Snow much?

However, when the Vikings killed another one of Uhtred's parents, the rightful heir to Bebbanburg decided enough was enough—time to make his enemies pay.

Game of Thrones fans will undoubtedly find the historical drama’s protagonist appealing. Uhtred’s tongue is just as silver as Tyrion Lannister's and they both have serious family issues. The Last Kingdom ticks all of the boxes with family feuds, backstabbing royalty, deadly deals, and, for all of you Clegane fans (what is wrong with you?), there's even an eye-gouging.
