10. Cheers
"Makin' your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Takin' a break from all your worries sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name..." Alright, watch one season of this brilliantly written 1982 sitcom and then try your very hardest to walk into your favorite bar without even thinking of this show or its theme song. I guarantee you it's impossible.
Cheers, which ran from 1982 to 1993 and led into another unprecedented 11 year run a la Frasier Crane from 1993 to 2004, gives us an instantly recognizable piano jingle while showing a montage of the titular bar and its patrons throughout the years since its founding in 1895. The nostalgia kick is intoxicating, featuring horses and buggies, a 'Dewey Defeats Truman' paper, and the historically mustachioed patrons of the place where everybody knows your name throughout the 20th century.
