10 Unlikely Characters Who'd Be Perfect For Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
9. Captain Braxton
Speaking of time travelers who tie to previous shows, this is one victim of temporal psychosis who can cause major problems for the Enterprise.
Captain Braxton was never a benevolent time traveler, in his first appearance he immediately tries to blow up Voyager and initiates a paradox. Sure, he was attempting to prevent a disaster but that he instantly resorts to murder says a lot about his character.
By his subsequent appearance he'd gone fully insane and blamed Janeway and her crew for the years he spent stranded in the twentieth century. Maybe reintegrating the version of Braxton who "never experienced those events" with his mentally ill and homeless counterpart wasn't such a good idea, considering that it caused him to lose his mind, go rogue and try to blow up Voyager.
While the last time we saw him he was headed to stand trial, any number of scenarios could lead this 29th century wacko into the path of Pike and his crew. Maybe he's going after Janeway's ancestors terminator style or he might have bigger and crazier plans. One thing is certain, an encounter with Captain Braxton would make for a really fun episode or two.
One benefit to bringing back this character is that he's already been recast once, so if they need to cast a third actor it wouldn't be a big deal.
