10 Upcoming Amazon Original TV Shows To Be Excited About

Honourable Mentions: The Tick And Jack Ryan

Of Amazon's latest pilot slate, the most exciting - and also the weirdest - is their new take on The Tick, the blue-costumed absurdist spoof of a superhero.

The character has been around in comics since the 80s, and there has already been one TV show based on him: a short-lived sitcom from 2001, starring Patrick Warburton in the title role. It lasted only 9 episodes, but actually managed to garner strong reviews, and a version backed by Amazon's money could be very interesting.

The hilarious Peter Serafinowicz is starring this time around, accompanied by the likes of Griffin Newman and Jackie Earle Haley, and if the pilot's a success it'll be fun to see just where they go with this series.

Another exciting show that's even further off is Amazon's planned Jack Ryan TV series. The movie adaptations of Tom Clancy's novels have had mixed success, but expectations will still be high when the TV version eventually gets off the ground. It's had a straight-to-series order, with The Office's John Krasinski set to star, and has been created by Lost duo Carlton Cruse and Graham Roland.

It might be a little while before it gets here, but with some talent behind it and a recognisable brand name, it could well be a big hit for the streaming service.
