10 Wasted Simpsons Characters That Deserved Better

The Simpson family is surprisingly large, albeit with its main characters limited to the handful living in Springfield. Mona Simpson turned up every now and then, Homer brought in countless obscure relatives when trying to make Lisa feel better about her future, and he also had a half-sister living in England.

This wasn't Homer's only sibling however, as there was of course, Herb. Homer's half brother appeared twice in the series as he had his automotive empire destroyed by Homer, before Maggie helped him find his fortune once more.

He left Evergreen Terrace on good terms with Homer after previously claiming that he had no brother, but there hasn't been a real appearance from the character since. In the almost 30 years since he brought Homer his massage chair, he has only appeared as a voice on an answering machine telling his brother that he is poor again.

Since he and the family were on such good terms when he left, there is no reason why he shouldn't have come back to Springfield again. He wasn't even involved when Homer brought his 'entire' family to Evergreen Terrace.

Danny DeVito was a top tier special guest on The Simpsons, and Herb had great dynamics with not only his brother but with Marge and the kids too, and fans have the right to feel like they have been robbed of more appearances from him over the years.
