10 Worst CGI Moments In Star Trek

1. Star Trek Enterprise - The Gorn

CGI Gorn

The absolute winner of worst CGI goes to the very same creature that would probably win any list for worst make up and costuming as well!

The final season of Enterprise has many of the best episodes on show. Two such episodes are the wonderful In A Mirror, Darkly. They are set entirely in the mirror universe and they are a lot of fun, watching the crew play out the evil versions of themselves, along with boarding a '60s accurate version of the USS Defiant. There is even a Tholian in the episode which looks quite good all things considered.

When the Gorn enters the fray however, you simply just have to see the funny side. The episode was created for comedy and it completely delivers. Archer versus the CGI Gorn has about the same level of threat as Kirk versus the rubber Gorn. Give it enough time and this scene may go down in infamy as well. It. Is. Hilarious. It's like watching of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles try to fight, had that turtle been animated while drunk.

This may seem like a scathing criticism but in all actuality, it completely adds to the hilarity of the episode. It's meant to be funny. It's meant to be tongue in cheek. Maybe one day, the Gorn will appear in either Discovery or Picard where they might be presented as a more formidable race but for now, thanks to this wonderful CGI offering, they remain the funniest and cuddliest warrior race in the Star Trek canon.
