10 Worst Doctor Who Episodes Of All Time

2. The Creature From The Pit

Tom Baker's reign as Doctor Who lasted seven seasons and was nothing short of sublime. His teaming up with Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah-Jane Smith was iconic, as was his ability to bring a comic but truly alien feel to our titular timelord. Of all the brilliant storylines, The Arc in Space and Genesis of the Daleks stand out as his best episodes.

The same cannot be said for The Creature from the Pit, an episode that even the charismatic Baker could not save. The central problem of the piece is just how dreadful the creature looks, presented like a pile of excrement that had been piled up and then developed the ability to talk. The fact that Baker's Doctor is forced to engage in long winded conversations with the Creature only draws out the agony.

The true awfulness of the episode led to many critics believe that it was a deliberate choice to make the episode this bad, apparently in an effort to spoof B grade sci-fi films. In that case, Tommy Wiseau's The Room is the most glorious satirical film of all time and was robbed of an Oscar. Please!
