10 Worst Episodes Of Otherwise Excellent Sci-Fi TV Shows
3. Lost - “Stranger In A Strange Land”
Lost was all about hiding information and keeping the audience guessing, which often led to lackluster episodes. There are more than enough people who hated the series finale, but even those folks would find it difficult to offer much praise for "Stranger in a Strange Land" from season three.
The episode was one of the many "fillers" that padded themselves onto the main story, which kept the seasons going for the ordered number of episodes, and it shows. It's not about anything to do with Lost's main underlying plot, and instead, it's all about Jack's tattoos.
Jack certainly needed some character development episodes, and he got them — "Stranger in a Strange Land" simply wasn't one of them. This was during the third season, and the fans wanted to know more about what was going on, and learning about Jack's ink didn't do anything for anybody.
Damon Lindelof once called "Stranger in a Strange Land," "the worst episode we ever produced." There's really not much that can be said about it other than to state it is boring and has absolutely no payoff. If you're binging Lost, you can skip it without missing anything about the overall story.
