10 Worst Sci-Fi TV Characters Of All Time
8. Neelix - Star Trek: Voyager

Say bye bye to food replicators, and hello to an exceptionally irritating alien chef. Polarising from the get go, Neelix spends a remarkably large percentage of TV time stressing over what he'll whip up for supper tonight. Indeed, no matter how wild the storylines get (and we're talking everything from Borg invasions to Kazon pirates), Neelix just keeps on spewing dinner-related word vomit.
Actor Etan Phillips approaches the mohawked imbecile with gusto, making the best of the often idiotic material handed to him. His primary storyline initially revolved around his being in love with the Ocampa empath Kes.
While it wasn't setting the world on fire, it did at least provide Neelix a slither of character development. With her vanishing into thin air by Season 4, however, Neelix is left with little to do beyond failing in the art of comic relief.
Widely panned by critics and fans alike, Neelix has developed a minor cult following in the years since (perhaps we'll meet some of his defenders in the comments section). While some may say the hate was over the top and others may really love the Star Trek Cookbook, the fact is Neelix ate up too much screen time with too little to contribute.
