10 Worst Ways TV Characters Were Written Out
4. Amy Jessup - Fringe
As is the way with a lot of J. J. Abrams projects, Fringe was heavy on ambition. Designed to give the fans something to chew over, it was dense with plots, Easter eggs, and characters. With such a structure it stands to reason that some strands and players eventually fall by the wayside.
One such example is Agent Amy Jessup. She appears at the start of season two, seems as though she’s going to be significant to the show, and then vanishes without a trace. She’s hardly around for enough time to build any kind of attachment, but her disappearance left the fans asking questions. Is this part of a deeper mystery? Will Agent Jessup make a grand return in due course, or did she just… disappear?
Well, it turned out she got a better offer - a far juicier part on legal drama Suits. The Fringe team knew they were going to lose her, and decided to cut their losses - a decision they may now regret. While the final fate of Agent Amy Jessup may remain forever a mystery, it’s safe to assume actress Megan Markle is probably doing just fine for herself.
