2. Olive The Other Reindeer Released in 1999, it's based on the children's picture book and was produced by Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons. Olive (Drew Barrymore) is a Jack Russell Terrier who mondegreens a radio newscast which, reporting that Blitzen is injured, and Santa hopes "all of the other reindeer" will be able to carry the load, which she hears as "Olive, the other reindeer". Thinking Santa needs her help, she starts a trek to the North Pole, with the help of a penguin named Martini (Joe Pantoliano). Their antagonist is The Postman (Dan Castallaneta) who would rather see Christmas gone, so he doesn't have to carry all that holiday mail. It's a very funny adventure, with a great voice cast, save for Barrymore, who really needs a strong director in order to excel. Seek out her version of Babes In Toyland (with Keanu Reeves) for another example of truly abysmal acting from her.
