12 AWFUL TV Shows Doctor Who Actors Want You To Forget
2. Suntrap - Bradley Walsh
Shows don't come any weaker than this car crash of a comedy, that attempted to show off the 'comic talents' of Kayvan Novak, but managed to highlight his acting limitations instead. Novak portrayed undercover Journalist Woody, who goes on the run to a Spanish island after an investigation goes awry. Poor old Bradley Walsh was dragged into this car crash of a show as Woody's ex mentor Brutus, forced into dressing up into various costumes that were clearly meant to spark hilarity, but instead just made viewers cringe.
Novak comes across as a poor man's Sacha Baron Cohen, with some of the lamest disguises ever seen. Unlike Baron Cohen, who utilises the disguises as a means to get himself into characters from which he can create some humour, Novak's ridiculous disguises were the whole joke. Oh look, he is dressed like a Pirate! Now he's dressed like an Aerobic instructor! The scenarios didn't go anywhere, as we we're just meant to laugh at the apparently side splitting situation he found himself in.
Walsh does his best Arthur Daly impression while continually reiterating to the audience what a brilliant undercover reporter Woody is, while not convincing anyone. The idea that Woody was a brilliant undercover Journalist was the only funny joke of the show, however unintended, as the disguises were so bad that it's nonsense that anyone would be stupid enough to be conned.
