7. Feel The Force - Michelle Gomez

Michelle Gomez was a star of the Peter Capaldi era of NuWho, bringing some real depth to interpretation of The Master in female form. Gomez's comic talents really came to the fore as 'Missy', which is something that can't be said for her performance in the agonising 'slapstick comedy' Feel the Force, in which she was the lead.

The show's brief six episode run focussed on Gomez's PC Sally Bobbins, portrayed by Gomez as a bit of an idiot who no-one liked, who tries to get rid of her new partner PC Sally Frank, portrayed as a horny moron who Bobbins hates.

The scenario may have worked better if Gomez had played her role straight and let Rosie Cavaliero as Sally Frank play the sole 'goofball' role, as having both actors attempt to outdo each other makes for a tonal mess. Unfortunately, Cavaliero is so lacking in comic timing that it's unlikely any changes would have made a difference to the overall structure or quality of the show.

As it is, the show just tried too hard gather a laugh wherever it could, failing every time. Even worse than the overacting and lame scenarios was the pathetic soundtrack, punctuating every place where a joke should have been while emphasising how bad this whole sorry affair was.
