12 Brilliant Ways TV Characters Were Brought Back From The Dead

5. Clara Oswald €“ Doctor Who

Rory Williams might be the Kenny of Doctor Who, surviving drowning, old age and being erased from time itself but it is Clara Oswin Oswald still beats him for sheer the scope of her many resurrections. We might have seen two deaths so far, but that doesn€™t mean we might encounter another version of herself in the future, alongside the current modern-day companion. Fans wanted something simpler in tone after the arc-heavy stories of series six and the following run of episodes did that with the €˜mystery girl€™ story line that began, rather surprisingly, before the entrance of the Doctor's post-Ponds companion. Her appearance at the start of series seven was a master stroke in storytelling and the follow up reveal of her death at the hand of the Daleks had us scratching our heads for months. Finally she was back in The Snowmen, only to die a second time. The mystery of her many deaths and resurrections came together extremely satisfactorily in the series seven finale 'The Name Of The Doctor'. She jumps into the Doctor's time stream to save him and the universe from the Great Intelligence, scattering herself across every pivotal moment in the Doctor's life. From the First Doctor picking his Tardis on Gallifrey to a trip Svartos to save the Seventh Doctor from a polystyrene cliff (though Dragonfire, really?), Clara was literally everywhere at once, living and dying for the Doctor. In one decisive action, she became one of the most pivotal companions in Doctor history; a companion who can live and die a thousand times over. Even Rory can€™t beat that one.

I aim to achieve my goal for writing for television (and get my novels published) but in the meantime I'll continue to write about those TV shows I love!
