12 Mega Movie Stars Appearing In Essential 2014 TV Shows

2 & 1. Billy Bob Thornton & Martin Freeman - Fargo

You know them from: Thornton: Armageddon (1998), Sling Blade (1996), Friday Night Lights (2004) €“ Freeman: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), The World's End (2013) Coen brothers Joel and Ethan will lend their weight as executive producers of this much anticipated television adaptation of their classic Academy Award winning film Fargo (1996). The ten-episode limited series, set to air on American network FX later this year, will feature a new case and new characters bearing the trademark humour and "Minnesota nice" that endeared us to the original film. Leading the intriguing cast is silver screen veteran Billy Bob Thornton, who has worked with the Coen's previously on their neo-noir thriller The Man Who Wasn't There (2001), and British favourite Martin Freeman, whose recent successes include the title role in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy, and Dr. John Watson in the BBC's wildly popular Sherlock (2010). The series will also star Bob Odenkirk, who played sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman on AMC's Breaking Bad, as well as Colin Hanks, Kate Walsh, Adam Goldberg, Oliver Platt, and Glen Howerton. Also keep your eye out for comedy duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, who will appear in the final four episodes as FBI agents Webb Pepper and Bill Budge. That brings to a close our list of twelve movie mega stars who have made the switch to TV in 2014, and should leave you with enough quality programming to digest for many an evening to come.
