3. Eva Green - Penny Dreadful

You know her from: Casino Royale (2006), The Dreamers (2003), Dark Shadows (2012) Eva Green rose to fame as the woman who broke, and made, James Bond: Vesper Lynd, in Casino Royale. It was a role she initially turned down, but accepted at the last minute, after principal photography was already underway. She picked up a BAFTA Rising Star Award as a result and launched her international career, so I think it's safe to say she made the right call. The French beauty has since made the femme fetale role her own, with upcoming turns in 300: Rise of an Empire (in cinemas now) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, coming later this year. Aside from that, you can catch her alongside Josh Hartnett (himself an honourary mention on this list) and Billie Piper in the upcoming Showtime psychosexual horror/drama Penny Dreadful, which sees famous literary characters of the genre such as Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, and Dorian Gray collide on the streets of Victorian London. The eight-episode mini-series will see Green star as the shows heroine Vanessa Ives, who is described as a "the fulcrum of the show."
