12 Sci-Fi TV Shows Let Down By Terrible Endings

10. Blake's 7

Lost Characters
BBC

This one is sure to be controversial, as Blake’s 7 is almost as beloved amongst its fanbase as the OTHER British sci-fi adventure show of the seventies (P.H.D in a Tardis ringing any bells?). The show was more serious and adult than any incarnation of the good Doctor, though, following the titular guerrilla fighter and his motley band of resistance recruits as they attempted to overthrow the galaxy’s fascist overlords from the comfort of their aptly-named ship the Liberator.

It’s an edgy premise that produced a few seasons of classic politically charged sci-fi, fusing tense action and charming team chemistry with strong allegorical underpinnings. What could go wrong?

Well, you could take the central theme too far and off almost the entire cast in the closing episode in order to reinforce the cynical attitude of the series so far. That’s Blake himself dead, Vila joining him on the coroner's slab, and Avon facing down a hail of bullets. More Butch and Sundance than Doctor and companion, then.

Cathal Gunning hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
