As soon as Bob Newby hit the screens in season three of Stranger Things, audiences could only see a grizzly end for the manager of Radioshack. The partner of Joyce coming into the series, Bob was shown to be one of the most lovable and caring figures in the show, regularly going out of his way to help Joyce and Will following their turbulent experiences.

The return of Jim Hopper into Joyce's life was always going to spell bad news for Bob, and audiences are given a foreshadowing into his fate when he takes Will to school earlier in the series. Telling his girlfriend's son that he used to suffer from nightmares and bullies like him, Bob explains that he builds up personas to give him the confidence to tackle them head on.

Bob had the chance to face his nightmares and become a hero after volunteering to go down into the basement and restore power, reset the locks and let everyone escape. Having survived a tense cat-and-mouse sequence, Bob makes it back to the main foyer and reunites with Joyce before suddenly being mauled by the chasing pack of Demodogs.
