7. Nightflyers

Despite the promise of being adapted from source material written by George R.R. Martin, the new Nightflyers series suffers from a fatal lack of atmosphere or even basic tension.

The performances are mostly fine, though the cast is basically trapped in a generic mish-mash of concepts better explored in countless classic sci-fi movies which won't rob 10 hours of your life.

The dialogue frequently stinks, the subplots are a bore, and the characters are too often asked to pass the idiot ball around.

Unless you're really desperate for some new, lavish sci-fi TV and have already blitzed through The Expanse, give this one a wide berth. You're better off just watching Event Horizon and Alien back-to-back, really.
