8. D'deridex-class
Key Appearances: The Neutral Zone, What You Leave Behind, Face of the Enemy, The Defector The mainstay of the Romulan fleet during the Next Generation era, the D'deridex-class was one of the largest and most powerful ships in the quadrant, proving more than a match for the Federation's most capable ships. The D'deridex-class proved instrumental in winning the Dominion War and helped establish the Romulan Empire as one of the two remaining superpowers in the war's aftermath. The D'deridex-class was twice as large as the Fedeation's flagship Galaxy-class and featured a cloaking device, as well as some of the most powerful offensive and technical systems of any ship in the quadrant. The D'deridex-class appeared in many episodes of Next Generation as they were among the few ships capable of posing a threat to the Enterprise. The D'deridex-class is the most memorable Romulan starship from the show and its imposing presence makes it one of Star Trek's best designs.
