13 Badass Doctor Who Moments That Made Us All Cheer

2. Good Bye Davros

Genesis of the Daleks was the first episode that introduced the Seventh Doctor as a Chess master; an idea so popular it is still being felt to the current Doctors of the new series. In the episode there was this ancient Time Lord called, the Hand of Omega; a device that two Dalek factions are after to unravel the secrets of master time travel. The Doctor was taking care of it throughout the episode trying to keep it away from the Daleks. But later, the Imperial Dalek faction took a hold of it and was now in the hands of Davros. The Doctor contacted Davros through video communications and preceded to do their hero and villain banter. Davros declared his scheme to use the Hand on Skaro's sun, granting the Imperial Daleks the power to overthrow the Time Lords. The Doctor warned him that he was making a grave mistake, so Davros activated the hand. It turns out that the Doctor booby-trapped the Hand: It creates a supernova, obliterating the Daleks' home world, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. As the supernova shockwave was about to hit Davro's ship, Davros begs for pity. All the Doctor did was say his goodbyes and turn off the video link between them. In that instant, with the Daleks already killing each other, Davros presumed dead, and their planet destroyed, the Daleks were endangered of being extinct. A total utter defeat , courtesy from the Oncoming Storm. What is great is that the Doctor made it specifically to be gift-wrapped and delivered to Davros; so it would be in Davros' own lack of hands that killed the Dalek race. Throughout the episode, the Doctor was only pretending to protect the Hand of Omega off the Daleks, but was really setting up the tiles so that the Imperial Daleks would take it to Davros. All so he could look at Davros in the face to see him seal the faith of his own creation as he warns him of the dangers of using such a powerful weapon. Goodbye Davros, it hasn't been pleasant.
