6. Is Romance On The Cards For Carson?

Downton Abbey has enough characters and plot lines to fill all 13 of these slots. One of the best scenes to come from the 2013 Christmas Special featured the stoic butler, Carson, having a somewhat romantic encounter - if it can even be called that. Carson's 'moment' with Mrs. Hughes on the beach was simultaneously unnatural and sweet. It may have just been a nice moment to help us enjoy the holidays, but it would be nice to see Carson unwind and live a little. So is there romance on the cards for Carson and Mrs. Hughes? Or is it all just a big tease?
