13 Reasons Why 13 Reasons Why's Final Season Is A Complete Trainwreck
5. The Directing, Dialogue And Music Have Never Been Worse
Three major assets to 13 Reasons Why in the past were the directing, the dialogue and the soundtrack. The soundtrack has always been great, the direction has been pretty solid most of the time and even in the show's weaker stretches, the dialogue scenes have always been really good.
Unfortunately, that's not the case in this season. The directing is flat and occasionally downright awful, especially in the camping trip episode, while the dialogue scenes are largely forgettable and feel pretty trite most of the time.
As for the soundtrack, it's not as good as it used to be. Some of the music played at the prom worked well and an Arcade Fire track was well-used in the series finale, but other than that nothing really made an impact.
Also, not including The Night We Met (Hannah and Clay's song) was a real missed opportunity.
