14 Doctor Who Companions That Need To Return

10. Peri Brown

Oh, Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown, what really happened to you? On TV, viewers saw Peri suffer a terrible fate at the end of Mindwarp, her body taken over by an alien and her mind ultimately destroyed. In that episode, her usurped form is then killed by the warrior king, Yrcanos (Brian Blessed). However, at the end of the Trial of a Time Lord season, Peri's fate is revealed to have been a deception as false evidence planted in the Time Lord Matrix. Peri really married Yrcanos. Depending on what form of spin off media is believed, Queen Peri then lives out her life with Yrcanos (comics), returns to Earth through a dimensional rift (New Adventures), travels back to Earth and helps Yrcanos become a pro wrestler (the novelisation of Mindwarp) or becomes Miss Brown and helps The Stranger (BBV videos). It's all very confusing. The sheer mass of follow up stories indicates how dissatisfied fans were with Peri's exit from televised Doctor Who. Has the time come to set the record straight and say in NuWho just what really did happen to Peri? Because no one deserves to spend the rest of her life trapped in a loveless marriage with a bombastic, primitive warrior king... who shouts a lot. Really, he shouts a lot.
