4. German Resolution - CJ Claims She Will Get Germany To Pass A UN Resolution But They Are Not A Permanent Member Of The Security Council
By the Seventh Season of The West Wing, White House Press Secretary CJ Cregg has been promoted to Chief-of-Staff and she is forced to deal with a crisis by attempting to get a UN resolution passed. However, when she is asked who she wants to introduce the resolution, she declares that it will be "from Germany". Yet Germany is not a permanent member of the UN Security Council (and the suggestion in the show is that they have not been voted on to the council as any of the other 10 revolving members at the time) and such an important resolution would need to be introduced by one of the five permanent members - China, France, Russia, Britain or the US.
