Living in the world of Claymore is no walk in the park, as there are deadly shapeshifting monsters roaming about called yoma, who feed on human flesh. The only foil to these nasty beasties is the Claymore, a group of warriors bred to be half-human, half-yoma. Our central character (Clare) is one of these fighters. The show follows her and a young boy she rescued on their demon slaying journeys.

This anime deserves way more attention than it gets. The world has this dark and gritty vibe, and the yoma come across as genuinely threatening, making for some pretty nail-biting moments.

The biggest highlight, though, has to be the Claymore. These warriors are effortlessly cool, as their silver eyes and giant swords make them look unbelievably badass. The series is worth watching for them alone.
