14. You Cannot Kill David Arquette
Most people remember David Arquette as either the daft young cop from Scream, or the ex-husband of Courteney Cox. Wrestling fans, however, know him as the guy who was given WCW’s top belt as a hugely controversial stunt in 2000, seen as a nail in the coffin for the floundering promotion.
Wrestling fans regret the event - but so too does Arquette, who was and is a genuine, die hard wrestling fan. He accepted the belt with reticence (and gave his fee to the families of dead wrestlers), but since then has felt a desire to make amends to the viewers, and prove that he’s for real.
The end result: You Cannot Kill David Arquette, a supremely entertaining documentary which demonstrates without doubt that Arquette has guts for days. No spring chicken, he puts his body on the line in hardcore matches, works incredibly hard, and chucks himself into the craft all to make a point.
Arquette is a massively likeable figure, and his bonafides as a fan of pro wrestling are beyond debate. If he felt the need to put himself through this to exorcise the ghosts of his past, consider it a job well done.
