7. Frances Ruffelle - We Will Be Free (United Kingdom)
What Is She Know For? Frances Ruffelle is best know for originating the role of Éponine Thénardier for Les Miserables on both the West End and Broadway stages. She won several musical theater awards for the role, including a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress.
At Eurovision (Tenth Place): Like Colm Wilkinson and Michael Ball, Frances Ruffelle became the third member of the original Les Miserables cast to participate in Eurovision, this time for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland. She performed sixth out of twenty-five countries with the song We Will Be Free. Ruffelle received sixty-three points and she came into tenth place. However, this was overshadowed by an interval act that stole the show:
After Eurovision: Frances Ruffelle has maintained a steady musical theater career, but Éponine remains her most famous role. Like her follow original cast member, Colm Wilkinson, Ruffelle also made a cameo appearance in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables, as one of the prostitutes during the "Lovely Ladies" number (she sings the lyric "Come on dearie, why all the fuss?" to Anne Hathaway's Fantine).
