Though he's gone through some major changes, Chang is funniest as Señor Chang, the unhinged Spanish teacher (not professor) who bullies and antagonizes the group. The Pilot posed the question of what makes Greendale so bad, and Chang's first appearance answered it.
Chang's finest moment, however, comes a few episodes later, when he discovers a crib sheet with all the answers to the test on it. Ken Jeong nails the physical humour, zooming in on the sheet as if trying to read the tiny print. He then berates every member of the study group, calling them some horrible nickname. And his use of "cero," one of the few Spanish words he actually knows, is the cherry on top.
The bully is a common trope throughout high school and college movies and shows, but making him the teacher shows Community's ingenuity.
