9. "IT'S A BEAR DANCE!"
In Season 5, the Save Greendale Committee plans a dance, and the newest member, Chang, has an idea for a theme: Bear Down for Midterms. Everyone else, of course, hates the idea, but Chang makes an impassioned, self deprecating plea to the group, and they make the decorations for the Bear Down for Midterms Dance.
However, Neil tells the group that this theme comes too soon after a highly public bear attack, and Chang suddenly remembers where he got the idea. They quickly cover up their bear decorations to make them into "Fat Dogs," as in the common, everyday, totally-not-made-up expression "Fat Dog."
At the party, Chang leads a new dance called the "Fat Dog," based on the age old phrase. However, while dancing, Garrett knocks the dog decals down, revealing that they were bear decorations all along. Horrified, he shouts, "IT'S A BEAR DANCE!"
Community fans still can't use the everyday expression "fat dog" without laughing.
