15 Greatest Performances In Marvel Cinematic Universe TV Shows

8. Charlie Cox - Matt Murdock (Daredevil)

Without Daredevil being a success, the Netflix Marvel Universe may not have gotten off the ground the way it has done. Falling at the first hurdle generally isn't the best way to build a franchise, so it was important to get this one right.

Likewise, Daredevil wouldn't have worked if that man playing the titular character wasn't a good fit. After Ben Affleck's movie portrayal, it needed something special to bring The Man Without Fear back to life.

Enter Charlie Cox.

Best known for roles in Stardust and Boardwalk Empire, it wasn't clear exactly what Cox could bring to the part of Matt Murdock. Any doubts were quickly put to bed though, as he not only looked the part, but managed to perfectly capture both the charm and the haunted nature of Murdock.

As adept at action as he is in a court of law, Cox's Murdock is the live-action take the character deserved. Particularly impressive is just how well the able-sighted actor is able to portray a blind man. He spent time walking around blindfolded, and practised doing household chores wearing one, and it really shows. It's something that's continued to grow, in particular with the various little tics and head movements he's added in.

His performance is only continuing to improve, and by the time of Daredevil Season 3 he could be even higher up the list.
