9. Lucifer
Airing: Pilot Ordered How could anyone not get excited about the prospect of an adaptation focused on Neil Gaiman's Sandman spin-off starring a young hedonistic devil styled on David Bowie moving to LA to open a swanky piano bar? Well, not Fox who have ordered a pilot from from Californication creator/executive producer Tom Kapinos and Warner Bros TV, the developers behind all DC-themed TV projects to date. The high-concept is ludicrously appealing, and if Gaiman retains some writing or even story consultancy capacity, that can only be a good thing. And it surely can't be long until the plum role of Lucifer is cast, which should whip up a bit more excitement. The Selling Point: It's looking like it's going to be Californication starring the Devil. Concerns: The supernatural comic adaptations to date don't exactly have a very good track record.
