15 Hottest Upcoming Comic Book TV Shows

10. Static Shock

Airing: TBC Having surrendered some of the film market to Marvel, DC's assault on the small screen has been far more impressive (aside from Christopher Nolan's work, of course), and it seems they're looking to give as many properties a chance as possible. The next will be Static, a young black geek with electromagnetic superpowers, who will be brought to screen by Django Unchained producer Reginald Hudlin with rumours that Jaden Smith might star, with the show airing online (possibly on Machinima). It's a strange one certainly, but the pull of the animated show, and the very specific demographic might well make it the perfect choice for the online streaming model. And if you're going to experiment, why not do so with a braver choice like this. The Selling Point: It's an intriguing source, and the first company that makes a live action comic book adaptation that appeals to a younger audience will print money. Concerns: As an indication of the quality of the source, he once fought (and was unable to initially best) Rubberband Man. Also, Jaden Smith.
