15 Most Anticipated Horror TV Shows Of 2025

6. Crystal Lake

It Welcome to Derry Chris Chalk
Paramount Pictures

It should be noted that, at one point, the plan was to have Crystal Lake premiere at the end of 2024, so one has to maybe take with a pinch of salt the prospect of that Friday the 13th series debuting by the time 2025 is out.

Following the lengthy legal issues between Friday the 13th writer Victor Miller and director/producer Sean S. Cunningham over the franchise's rights, the dust has settled and Miller is on board for Crystal Lake, a TV show set to explore various elements of Jason Voorhees and his world.

Previously, this A24 and Peacock show had Hannibal's Bryan Fuller on board as showrunner, though Fuller exited the project midway through last year due to disagreements on what direction Crystal Lake was to take. Welcome to Derry producer Brad Kane took over from Fuller, with that exit seemingly being the main reason that Crystal Lake didn't end up making it to screens in 2024.

Cast-wise, Adrienne King - the first film's sole survivor Alice Hardy - is the only announced name for Crystal Lake, but one has to imagine that casting news will be on the way imminently as the series targets a late-2025 premiere.
