15 Sci-fi TV Shows That Ended Too Soon

12. Stargate Universe

The Beginning:

Airing in fall 2010, Stargate Universe was an exciting chapter in the sci-fi franchise. Taking more of a survivalist approach, the show zoned in on the scuttled crew of the battered ship Destiny, on a mission to first save their skins and, of course, do some interplanetary exploring.

At the centre of all this action was a simmering relationship between the ship’s ranking officer, Everett Young (Louis Ferreira), and its doctor, Nicholas Rush, played by an on form Robert Carlyle.

The End:

Despite audiences being left on tenterhooks following season two finale ‘Gauntlet’, and a general concensus that the show was starting to get into its groove, SyFy announced shortly after that SGU was no more, citing falling viewing figures as the reason for this decision.

Fans were quick to accuse SyFy of not caring about the franchise causing the network’s vice president to engage the rabid hordes in a frank admission, saying that ‘if we didn’t like science fiction, we simply wouldn’t have made SGU’.
