Friends: In season four Ross met, fell in love with, proposed to and ultimately married Emily. But when he mistakingly says Rachels name at the altar, Emily understandably becomes annoyed, forbidding Ross from seeing Rachel, tells him to sell all of his stuff she has touched (much to the delight of Gunther), and ultimately gives Ross a hard ultimatum to make. The Big Bang Theory: Enter Priya. Priya likewise enters in season four and tries to change Leonards appearance, forbids him from seeing Penny and refuses to acknowledge him in front of her parents. Returning to India, Leonard later cheats on her and they call it a day. In both cases the new girlfriend acted as a way of keeping the couple apart, much to the annoyance of fans of both shows.
