15 Star Trek Deaths That Didn't Last

4. Weyoun - Repeatedly

A death that manufactured a key characteristic of the delicious Vorta meant that viewers got more Jeffery Combs in DS9.

The cloning of the Vorta was an unknown concept when First Omet'iklan vapourised Weyoun (Four) at the end of a joint mission with the crew of the Defiant to destroy an Iconian gateway protected by renegade Jem'Hadar (To The Death, DS9).

Proving their loyalty to the Founders and not to the Vorta granting their next vial of Ketracel-White, the Jem'Hadar had not even a flicker of hesitation in pulling the trigger and that was that.

Yet Weyoun would return again... and again... and again because of a very clever loophole built into the Vorta themselves. The fifth incarnation was killed in a mysterious transporter accident (which was probably engineered by Damar), Weyoun Six would be "defective" and escape from the Dominion to seek sanctuary from the Federation. Seven was killed by Worf when the Klingon and Ezri Dax were captured by the Dominion and Weyoun Eight, the final edition, would be shot by Garak during the final movements of the liberation of Cardassia.

This time though there was no escape from the finality of death as the facility that produced the Weyoun clones had been destroyed.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
