15 Times Sons Of Anarchy Cast Were On The X-Files
How many can you remember?
In just a matter of weeks, fans of The X-Files will finally be gifted with new episodes of the series, reuniting Mulder and Scully again for the first time since 2008's I Want to Believe film hit theaters. With nine seasons and two films under the franchise's belt, the upcoming revival has led fans old and new to dive back into it all in preparation of its arrival.
With many actors having turned up on The X-Files over its run who often went on to bigger things in their own careers, part of the fun of revisiting the series, either as an old fan or a newcomer, is recognizing them. Countless shows can be linked back to The X-Files this way, from sitcoms and police procedurals to modern pop culture smashes like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and FX's seven-season hit Sons of Anarchy.
Like The X-Files, Sons of Anarchy cultivated for itself a large fan following over its run, with fans having come to forever attribute a number of the actors with their characters on the show. However, years in advance of their time on the series as criminals, cops, murderers, drug addicts, and more, a handful of these actors had roles in the phenomenon that was – and is – The X-Files.
In advance of the new season, let’s take a spoiler-filled look back to see if you remember when these 15 actors from the world of Sons of Anarchy turned up on The X-Files…
15. Mitch Pileggi
His Role On Sons Of Anarchy: Pileggi portrayed Ernest Darby, the leader of the White supremacist group the Nordics. In the first two seasons, he and his group's drug dealing activities constantly kept them at odds with SAMCRO, with Darby even teaming up with Ethan Zobelle, AJ Weston, and LOAN, though he was eventually double-crossed. After making a few more appearances in season three, Darby only returned one further time in season six - married to a Mexican woman and attempting to move away from his terrible past - to help the Sons wipe out the Neo-Nazi group that had attacked Unser.
His Role On The X-Files: Easily the most obvious entry on this list, he played Assistant Director Walter Skinner throughout all nine seasons of the series and both movies. The fan favorite character is also returning alongside Mulder and Scully in the upcoming revival.
