Netflix's 3% is a dystopian fiction where the residents of an impoverished community are given the opportunity to join an idyllic island society called The Offshore. When they turn 20, the young inlanders can take part in The Process, where they have just one shot to prove their worth.

There are clear similarities with the likes of The Hunger Games and Battle Royal but The Process is less about violence and more about displaying intelligence, wits and a fierce desire to win, no matter the cost.

Brazilian made and spoken completely in Portuguese, 3% is utterly addictive and provides a much-needed break from the generic shows often churned out in the sci-fi genre.
